We arrive in Germany early for an introduction to Carolin Otto.

Carolin Otto

Carolin was born in Hamburg, studied philosophy, and began working for Cosmopolitan and other magazines.

Later, she attended the Film School Munich, HFF, and the Script Academy Munich. Since 1995 she has worked as a script writer and director.

Among her work she’s directed the documentary Der Hölle ein Schöner Tag (A Beautiful day in Hell, 1991), and the films Küsse (Kisses, 1993), Pi – Die Polizistin (The Policewoman, 1996) Ein Wunder, bitte! (A Miracle Please!, 2004), and Aphrodites Nacht (Aphrodite’s Night, 2006), as well as the TV mini-series Kant, Sophie und der kategorische Imperativ (2006), and Hannah Arendt – Das Mädchen Aus Der Freme (2008) – which she also wrote and it won the Silver World Media Award.

She’s also written the television feature film Um Kopf Und Kragen (2001), three of the short films Die 10 Gebote Für Kinder (The 10 Commandments For Children, 2003), ‘Der Finger‘ for the long-running series Tatort (2007), and ‘Das Ende aller Sitten‘ for the series Der Bulle von Tölz (2008)
