Iván was born in Budapest, and gained his Masters in  Screenwriting at the Academy of Drama and Film of Budapest in 2006. He then went on to study film directing at the Northern Film School of the Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. As part of the curriculum he wrote and directed two short films (‘Spoke Pearls’, ‘Red’) and a commercial (‘Spaceman’).

After receiving his Masters in directing in 2008, he continued his studies with the 3-year DLA (Doctor of Liberal Arts) course at the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest. Since 2008 he has assisted his former head professor, Éva Schulze, with teaching screenwriting at the Film Department.

His first feature script, Vespa, was directed by a young Hungarian director Diana Groó and is in post-production. He is currently working on two other feature scripts with first-time director Ádám Császi, and young director György Pálfi.

Iván is a member of the Magyar Forgatókönyvírók Egyesülete (Hungarian Screenwriters’ Association).
