Michel Sabbe

Michel has been writing screenplays for more years than he cares to remember. He writes both in Dutch and in English and has worked on drama-series for all the major Belgian television channels.

Most recently, this included Jes (Eyeworks, VTM), a dramedy about a group of 30-somethings looking for love and the meaning of life in the city of Brussels, Zone Stad (Studio A, VTM), a hard-hitting police whodunit, and Night & Day (Eyeworks, VTM), which deals with the behind-the-scenes shenanigans at a hotel.

He has also written the award-winning short ‘Dear Granddad’, directed by Jeroen Dumoulein, and is developing a film noir thriller with Mr Dumoulein which both believe will be their ticket to fame and fortune.

2010 should see the production of Swooni, a feature film co-written with novelist Annelies Verbeke and directed by Kaat Beels.

In addition, for his pains, he is also co-treasurer of Scenaristengilde vzw (the Flemish Screenwriters’ Guild), and a regular contributor to Filmmagie, a monthly movie-magazine.
