Today we arc over to Bulgaria, to meet screenwriter Nelly Dimitrova.

Nelly studied at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts “Krastyu Sarafov” (NATFA) in Sofia, Bulgaria, and graduated with a Master of Arts. She’s now the Principal Assistant Professor of the Department of Dramaturgy, Film and TV Critical Studies at her old alma mater.

She has co-written on a number of animated projects such as The Incredible Adventure of Sinbad Seafarer and Love Story, as well as written and directed the documentary Tatu in Bulgaria (2002). She has also scripted several music awards shows on both bTV and Nova TV from 2003 – 2006.

In 2004 she was appointed supervisor of the scriptwriters team on Hotel Bulgaria, the daily drama series on Nova TV.

Currently she is the screenwriter of The Incredible Cake of Aunty-Monty, a feature animation in production, subsidised by the NFC (National Film Center, Bulgaria), and Love.Net, a feature film in production, which is also subsidised by NFC.

Nelly is a member of the Board of Directors of BAFTRS (the Bulgarian Association of the Film, Television and Radio Scriptwriters).
